Anointing of the Sick

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

Anointing of the Sick is an integral and ongoing part of the ministry of St. Joan of Arc parish. Our team of dedicated Eucharistic ministers provides weekly pastoral care to the sick and shut-ins who reside at home or in healthcare centres. This pastoral team works closely with the pastor to ensure that those who desire may receive the Eucharist on a regular basis. Please call the office to inform us of your needs.

The Sacrament of the Sick is administered promptly to anyone who requests this personally, or through a family member, caregiver, or pastoral care team member. This request can be made directly of the pastor, a pastoral care team member, or through the parish office by telephone or email. Please know it is our privilege to serve every person and family who desires pastoral care. Never hesitate to call us when the need arises.

It is not “Last Rites”, as you can be anointed more than once. A person who is in need doesn’t have to wait until they are “sick enough to bother the priest”. It is our pleasure to offer God’s power and strength to anyone in need.
